rush

Swiss Radio!

I am working on trying to get a 'podcast' from the Radio interview I did last night in Switzerland! It was pretty cool, having all my answers translated into 'Swiss German'. I only hope that some of the things I said didn't get lost in translation! What a thrill though, I absolutely Love this station "Radio 3fach" (pronounced 'dry-faug') Check out their music vibes at www.3fach.ch if you so desire, the station only hires those music Lovers 25yrs and under... so there is always new music to listen to, a refreshing sound altogether! Soon, I will be heading back to Canada-land, to play some shows, and get ready for 'Big Money Shot'. A music competition held in Ottawa Ontario, where the winner can win up to $250000!! What a rush, to think I could make a new album and pay off all my debts from the last one!! Ha! To dream is to live, I say!! There will definitely be more to come on THAT subject!! Just have to get the band super tight so we can thrill the judges out there! At the end of the month I am flying to Halifax for "In the Dead of Winter" festival... I can't wait! I have never been to Hali and it's sure to be an adventure what with all the piles & piles of snow (that I have managed to avoid thus far!!). I play on the 31st at "The Company House" and will have much fun checking out the other artists through the week, for more info go to www.inthedeadofwinter.com and if you are on the East Coast, come check it out!!! Tomorrow night I will play my last show in Luzern for awhile, it's been an amazing trip, one filled with countless moments of inspiration, bread, cheese & chocolate!! I have many many new ideas for new songs, melodies waiting to be filled with lyrics... I've been a little empty of words lately, can you imagine??? Well, I am sure they will come in time for my new album... anyway, I play on Saturday night at "Penny Farthing Pub House" in Kriens... it's a 9:30pm start for those readers out there anywhere near this part of the world. Next Wednesday I am singing in Montreal, at Casa Del Popolo, with Joe Grass & Charlotte Cornfield, we will be doing the show a la "song circle" style, so come check it out if you are in THAT part of the world!! There are SO many places to play, to see, to feel... wow, the world is full of wonder, isn't it???? Okay, take care, and Live well. xox

Continued...

So the weather is finally thawing... now that the days are longer, and spring is close... ooh laa laa... things just feel better!! Thankfully!! As for the continuation of my CMW rants... Seeing bands perform from all over the world makes one realize how music REALLY IS the universal language... Ireland, Australia, Toronto, Vancouver... having the pleasure to share the stage with such talent as "Sick of Sarah" a great chick band from the States... definitely check them out!! I had the pleasure of meeting with some great music execs, had a chance to chat with Terry McBride, who was just inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of fame... I saw Moby interviewed aswell; when asked the top 4 things he would do if it was the last day on earth, he replied: eat burritos, play Led Zeppelin covers, drink cheap beer & make sweet Love...on another note, I may be heading over to Germany to play!! What a rush... I can't wait until next year... In the meantime, I have some great things happening here in Toronto...besides having an abundance of performances to listen in on, great food around every corner, a gym membership, gigs to prepare for and an irish session to play in, I have a song-writer night to organize.. This takes place at The Supermarket (in kensington maket) on the last Monday of every month... so stay tuned for all the great artists who will make the roster... the first show is on the 31st of March featuring: Myself, Ron Leary, Meredith Luce & Dave Gaudet. You won't be disappointed!! Talk soon,  Moi xox

To be Continued!!

Greetings you fine people out there. What an incredible Canadian Music Week in Toronto. I had no idea how HUGE this week was going to be. It was an enormous gigantic rush of people in the music industry, all with the same agenda; talk, listen, learn & play!!! What wonderful things to have in common with one another. The energy was great, I just couldn't believe how friendly and wide-eyed every one seemed to be. There were SO many highlights, I just don't know where to begin, hence the title of this blog (I always dislike that word, oh blog!!) "To be continued" because I know there will be more moments to add as the weeks go by. I really am still flying.... one things for sure, if you would like to hear a bit of the hustle and bustle and an interview with me including exerpts from my new album "sound" have a listen to CFRB Toronto's News Talk Radio on the 23rd of March at 6pm. You can also go to their website & have a listen online at www.cfrb.com I will start by telling you about one major highlight and that was: Having the privilege to hear Alanis Morrissette answer some very personal questions, 20 feet away from me!! Yeah, she was interviewed for an hour... and truly spoke to my heart. She is an inspirational creature, spiritual & quite beautiful. Chatting with Garth Hudson of "The Band" was pretty awe inspiring as well. So I will leave you with that wonderful taste in your mouth and write a little later.... Love Lindsay

Mini Tour Success...

Driving in a flurry of snow & rain & sleet & wind is not my idea of pleasure, the rush of adrenaline that surged through my body at any given time while on the road to sing way pretty cool in the long run though. Mum asked me if driving around in crazy weather just to get to the next dive was all worth it & would I do it again? Yes, indeed, some places smell like 20 year old scotch mixed with cigarettes, and in some bizarre way, it all smells like home to me.First trip to Oakville to play, I was stolen at the end by some great new friends who kept me awake with the Demos from Nirvana... if that wasn't pure guts & soul, I don't know what is. Breakfast in the afternoon over hot coffee and visine eyes is a perfect start to a Saturday night gig in Toronto, where even though there was a blizzard from hell, people showed!! They also bought my new album, not realizing in doing so, paid for all the gas & a little interest on my loan... Thanks so much my good Lindsay Lovers... Sunday was a day of freezing rain & I was off to sing in Guelph... it was a brilliant time to go on tour, it was. I felt a little like a Postman... the show must go on!!! Even though I spent only a few hours in T.O in total, I think it may be the next step for this girl & her guitar... If anyone out there has any ideas on how to keep the music & soul alive in this singer if she moves to the Big Smoke, don't hesitate to get in touch...
